I think that SpudMud.com is a bit of an anomalie, because me and my brother have done zero marketing for SpudMud and it seems to be booming. We started out with a few visits a day during the late Alpha stages which I was quite pleased with but now half way through the Beta stages me VPS is starting to struggle with all of the hits (and also my bad coding ) During on day 28/06/2007 – 29/06/2007 we had a massive spike in traffic of almost 1,600 unique visitors with a total of about 6,000 page views which was absolutely astonishing, this was all due to BowMan Battlefield being submitted to StumbleUpon and all this traffic seems to come at once at about 1PM GMT on both days.
Also over the past week (while I was on holiday) SpudMud has been getting 3000+ pageviews a day which is just amazing considering I have done zero marketing/advertising. I just hope that we can keep this going.

Also all of these stats are not the actual figures because I havent put any stats on the open in new window pages but will soon.

Well currently I have my A Level exams which are the last of the high-school/college exams so that is why I haven’t posted for so long. So, on the 25th June I am finished with High School for the rest of my life, sound great doesnt it . And the even better thing is that after the exams I have 4 months of nothing until University (if I get the grades). So I can do whatever I want for that time.

My plans for the holidays are:

1. Work more on my current main project www.SpudMud.com and finish it properly and see how much I can get out of it
2. Go up to the lake district for a week or so and go camping/hiking etc with a few friends
3. Maybe start a new web project, I have quite a few ideas so I might just give them a go considering im gonna have all this time
4. Earn some money working at the Pool (Life-Guarding) for university and for marketing my sites more.

Finally the Google PageRank Update have begun! Only about 12 days after everyone was expecting.

I quite pleased with this sites jump. I started this blog just over a month ago and its already now a PR4!

I haven’t updated the blog in ages due to too much time being spent on Eve Online, yes im hooked… Its quite sad actually, because my final exams start in 2 months and here I am playing Eve all the time which I should be spending revising because I know that once the exams are over I have 3 months of holiday until University.

I haven’t spent much time on my sites as I should which is kinda annoying, Im thinking of selling PicHostOnline.com after the holidays so I really need to get some proper marketing started so that I can get a good price for it. At the current rate that im going im gonna get my $150 back in under a year which Im quite pleased with but I know that I can do a lot more if I just don’t waste my time on this stupid MMORPG.

Luckily my subscription for Eve is expiring on the 6th May, just after a 30 hour EVE LAN party (sad I know…) , So I should be able to get back on track with my revision and web-mastering soon after that.

After almost a week, I have seen a mega increase of … 0.

So you can give the method below a go but it didnt work for me. Traffic hasnt changed at all (according to analytics).

Other people say that it has worked but not for me. Well, it was worth a try.
